ASMR Simulator Version 2 is a software binaural sound generator with easy use. You can generate binaural sound from audio file and device microphones. You can also simultaneously hear and record the sound generated. It offers simple and intuitive interface with 3D controlling.

Features

Multiple inputs support

You can place multiple audio input around the virtual dummy head microphone. You can add/remove audio sources with tab operations.

Intunitive user interface

With 3D dummy head display, you can move around with slide/pinch gestures and mouse/wheel move.

Various HRTF support

You can use your favorite HRTF files (SOFA format), so you change different kind sound filters, i.e., different physical microphones, differet distances.

What are HRTF and SOFA?

HRTFs are set of impulse responces which is usually measured with using binaural microphone such as Neumann KU100 from one shot flicker sound around the microphone. You can obtain binaural sound with applying HRTF to arbite audio input(its mathmatical operation called convollation). See in Wikipedia

SOFA is data format of HRTF standardized by the AES. See also

You can find various SOFA files in here and other websites and research papers. Please try different SOFAs and find your favorite sound fileter.(Check each SOFA file usage conditions.)

Multi platform support

Fully pwa supported, available on Window, Mac, Android, iOS and Linux. It runs on your browser or near native enviromnment if device supports installing pwa.

Quick references

1. Main controlling screen. You can move around with touch or mouse. Input audio in current tab is emitted from camera position like you are moving around the dummy head while speaking out. Numbered labels represent audio source posotions of other tabs.

2. Choose audio file from your device. It accept popular audio file format like wav, mp3, ogg. It also support video file format.

3. Alternatively you can use device microphone. If it enables, its checkbox will be checked.

4. Audio control. You can play, stop, pause, loop and volume controlling.

5. Recording button. You can record all sound currently playing and hearing. recorded file is not automatically saved.

6. You can download recorded audio files. You can select and review recordings.

7. You can switch tabs. Each tab has its audio input file, mic input and custom SOFA file. You can close and open tabs with (8) and (9).

10. You can select favorite SOFA file from your device. It affects only in tab. If no file chosen, default SOFA file used.

11. Open settings. You can change settting your audio input devices and chose default SOFA file. If no default sofa files chosen, it uses internal default SOFA file(near field HRTF from Aalto university).

Known issues

Output recorded audio file is unseekable webm format. Seekbar may be broken when you paly on audio player. Some video editing software can not import such kind of files. You can fix by using audacity, ffmpeg or other audio editing software. Alternatively, you can use external software such as obs to record binaural sound.
